Project consisted of design, layout, specifications and installation of a new fire sprinkler system tied into the existing fire alarm. The project included the addition of a new masonry fire riser room to house fire department apparatus and electrical circuitry for both flow and tamper devices, in conformance with "Factory Mutual Surety" standards and building codes.
The new fire suppression system covered the entire 34,500 s.f. youth detention facility including:
• All cells & restrooms
• Dining & common areas
• Passageways & entry areas
• Mechanical spaces
• Offices & storage areas
Work included mitigation and removal of Asbestos Containing Materials while the facility remained in continuous operation and habitable condition.
